Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 24, 2026Ratio ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by Weblink Inc., operates the Ratio mobile application ("App"). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use the App, and the choices you have associated with that data. This policy is designed to comply with Apple App Store guidelines, including guideline 5.1.1(i), by clearly identifying what data we collect, how we collect it, all uses of that data, and all third parties with whom data is shared.

Information We Collect

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and age provided during sign-up via Apple Sign In.
  • Profile Data: Gender, skin type, hair concerns, and grooming preferences collected during onboarding.
  • Usage Data: App interactions, routine completions, and scan history to personalize your experience.
  • Device Information: Device type, OS version, and push notification tokens for delivering notifications.
  • Subscription Data: Purchase history and subscription status, managed through Apple In-App Purchases and processed by RevenueCat.

Face Data

This section describes in detail how Ratio collects, uses, stores, and protects your facial data.

What Face Data We Collect

The App collects front-facing and side-profile facial photos that you voluntarily submit through the App's scan feature using your device's camera. You are in full control of when and whether to submit photos. No photos are captured automatically or without your action.

Consent

Before any facial photos are sent for analysis, the App displays an AI consent screen that clearly explains how your photos will be used. You must explicitly agree to this consent screen before your first scan. No photos are transmitted until you provide this consent.

How Face Data Is Used

Your facial photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API (anthropic.com) for facial feature analysis. The AI evaluates your jawline definition, skin clarity, eye symmetry, and hair quality, producing numerical scores and personalized text-based recommendations for each category.

Who Face Data Is Shared With

Your facial photos are shared only with Anthropic, PBC, the company that operates the Claude AI API. Anthropic processes the photos solely to perform the facial analysis requested by the App. Anthropic's handling of your data is governed by their Privacy Policy and API Usage Policy. Anthropic does not use data submitted through their API to train their models.

Where Face Data Is Stored

Your facial photos are NOT stored anywhere — not on our servers, not in our database, and not on any third-party server beyond the duration of the API request. Only the resulting numerical scores (e.g., jawline: 8.5, skin: 7.2) and text-based insights/recommendations are stored in our database (Supabase) and associated with your account.

How Long Face Data Is Retained

Facial photos exist only for the duration of the API request to Anthropic — approximately 10 to 15 seconds — and are then permanently discarded. The numerical scores and text insights derived from the analysis are retained in your account for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all scores and insights are permanently deleted.

How We Use Your Information

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App. Each provider is contractually required to protect your data with standards equal to or exceeding our own, and each processes data only for the purposes described below.
  • Supabase (Privacy Policy) — Authentication and database. Stores your account information, profile data, scan scores, and text insights. Hosted in the US with encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Anthropic / Claude AI (Privacy Policy | API Usage Policy) — Processes facial photos for AI-powered feature analysis. Photos are sent via encrypted API requests and are not retained by Anthropic after processing. Anthropic does not use API data to train models.
  • RevenueCat (Privacy Policy) — Subscription and in-app purchase management. Processes purchase receipts and subscription status.
  • OneSignal (Privacy Policy) — Push notification delivery. Receives your device push token and notification preferences.
  • PostHog (Privacy Policy) — Privacy-focused product analytics. Collects anonymized usage data to help us improve the App.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. Data is shared with the above providers only as necessary to operate the App's features. Each third-party provider maintains security practices and data protection standards that are equal to or exceed our own.

Data Retention

  • Facial photos: Retained only during the API request (approximately 10–15 seconds), then permanently discarded. Photos are never stored on our servers or in any database.
  • Scan scores and insights: Retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Account and profile data: Retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Account deletion: You can request deletion at any time. Upon deletion, all personal data — including scores, insights, and profile information — is permanently removed from our systems.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. You can delete your account and all associated data from within the App at any time.

Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 or equivalent standards provided by our infrastructure partners.

Children's Privacy

Ratio is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above.
